Repertoire

The Merrimack Valley String Orchestra studies and performs a wide range of compositions - from masterworks of the Renaissance through Modern eras - to pops and holiday selections. The Chamber Orchestra and Advanced Cello Ensemble often perform demanding works in their original versions as well as advanced arrangements.

Recent concerts have included original works by Copland, Telemann, and Popper as well as arrangements of works by: Albeniz, Bach, Collins, Delibes, Handel, Mahler, Mozart, Paganini, Puccini, Rodgers, Suzuki, and Tchaikovsky. Listening to recordings, discussing composers, and studying scores as part of rehearsals help students to develop a greater appreciation of the works being rehearsed.
